The BJFA-UBD Chapter was established in 2004 by BJFA, alongside the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
The members of the BJFA-UBD Chapter consist of UBD students who are considered the youth of the association. There are about five sub-groups under BJFA-UBD Chapter. These include Nihon Ryouri, Traditional Arts, Sports & Games, Dance as well as MAGEC (Manga, Anime, Games, Entertainment Club).
Weekly gatherings are hosted to promote each of the sub-groups as well as Japanese and Bruneian culture. These events are targeted at both local and international students.

The BJFA-UTB Chapter, inaugurated on 16 September 2017, was an upgrade from the Japanese Culture Club of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) which has been in place since 2010.
Over the years, the BJFA-UTB Chapter has actively organised weekly sessions in order to support and encourage local interest in the rich Japanese culture amongst university students and the general public. Hosting a wide range of events, from anime screenings to origami sessions; the club aims for a perfect harmony in the relationships of its members.
